Demolition Warwick Arts Centre, Warwick University, Coventry
The project consisted of the demolition of part of a live Arts Centre within a live University.
PBM were tasked with the demolition approximately one quarter of Warwick Arts Centre which included the steel framed and glass entrance canopy, as well as the three concrete framed galleries. Works took place whilst the remainder of the Arts Centre remained live with shows and student access. The works were carried out firstly by hand to separate all areas from the live building, then by a long reach and other demolition specification excavators.
Work included:
- Investigative works with an M&E team
- Non-notifiable asbestos removal
- Strip out of the buildings
- Hand separation in line with our structural engineer findings
- Demolition of the steel framed and concrete framed sections
- Removal of slab/foundations
- Site clearance
