Demolition Project in Staffordshire
The project consisted of the demolition of two large World War Two RAF Hangers located near Lichfield.
The buildings were two steel framed hangers with brickwork wings either side. We were also tasked with demolished a reinforced concrete communications building. The site was situated next to a live Bellway Homes building site. Therefore, necessary precautions were made to ensure the safety of the neighbouring workforce and general public throughout the works.
Demolition work included:
- Site set up included signage, fencing and welfare
- PBM acting as principal contractor
- Management of notifiable asbestos removal
- Non-notifiable asbestos removal
- Demolition of large steel framed units and buildings
- Crushing of concrete arisings to 6F2 materials for re-use
- Site clearance
