The project consisted of the demolition of Kingstanding Shopping Centre
PBM were tasked with the demolition of the former Kingstanding Shopping Centre and The Kingstanding Public House. The bulk of the shopping centre, which included a rooftop car park, was reinforced concrete frame. Therefore PBM’s large demolition excavators were used with specialist pulverisor attachments to slowly demolish the structures and process the concrete. All concrete and brick was crushed to 6F2 standard and left on site for the clients re-use.
Work included:
- Site set up included signage, fencing and welfare
- PBM acting as principal contractor
- Management of Notifiable asbestos removal
- Non-notifiable asbestos removal
- Demolition of large shopping centre, pub and car park
- Working around a live sub-station within site
- Site clearance
- Crushing of all hardcore materials
